This afternoon, we hosted an October workshop for elementary students. This event takes place at our very own cafeteria. We hosted this event to help teach children about the different opportunities in STEM and what we do here in FIRST robotics. Our focus was more on the build side of the team than the marketing to show the children about what goes into building a robot. During the event, we showed children about how robots work. We included presentations that talk about programming, CAD and planning, the chassis and drive train of robots, subsystems, and safety at FIRST events. Yesterday and today, the 2077 Laser robotics hit the exhibits at Maker Faire Milwaukee. Plenty of eager faces came to see the robots, learn a little bit about them, and were even able to drive one themselves! Out of the blue, some star wars droids showed up and started playing catch with the competition robot. What a twist! The whole team had a lot of fun entertaining, engaging, and educating the general public and created a wonderful experience for everyone.
