On August 2nd, the Laser Robotics team traveled to the Wisconsin State Fair Park to help participate in a demo in robotics. We brought in the competition robot from last year’s competition, as well as a wooden prop resembling the spaceship that was used in the actual competition that we carved ourselves, and a few pieces of cargo.
While a couple of our members drove the robot, a couple of other members stayed back to explain t...

Today, we participated in the Dousman Derby Day parade. To start, we built and adorned our float with decorations we prepared a week beforehand. We brought this past year’s competition bot which was on full display on the float to show off our hard work. The float started rolling at 11:45 am with Cannon bot all ready to go and showed how much fun exploring science and technology can be to the surrounding community. We even col...

Tonight we had a great night! We had a few families come and take a look and drive some robots. They loved to drive the robots around and score some goals! Because we had much time to spare, we were able to have more "robot family" bonding time.

The robotics banquet was an absolute blast! Today, the Laser Robotics team hosted their very own banquet to congratulate everyone on a great year. Before that, everyone was assigned to help in some sort of way, such as bringing food, table cloth, and more. During the actual event, the team came over and had the time of their lives. We had dinner, and had great conversations together. In the end, Tara brought everyone together...

Today, we were invited to be a presenter at the Kettle Moraine Middle School STEM night. At this event, the students featured projects they had completed in science and technology classes. The FRC and FTC teams set up mini-fields in the gym and showcased our current year competition robots. Parents and students had the opportunity to drive robots, talk to team members and learn about robotics opportunities in FIRST. Many stude...

The Detroit Championship was an amazing experience that we all were honored to be a part of. Our drive team walked out on to Archimedes field for the first match and started our many qualifying matches.  Though there were a few defensive robots and radio issues, we were able to end in 32nd place on our field!  Our drive team was focused on the robot, the marketing team was connecting with other teams, and our team ambassador w...
