This afternoon, we hosted an October workshop for elementary students. This event takes place at our very own cafeteria. We hosted this event to help teach children about the different opportunities in STEM and what we do here in FIRST robotics. Our focus was more on the build side of the team than the marketing to show the children about what goes into building a robot.
During the event, we showed children about how robots work. We included presentations that talk about programming, CAD and planning, the chassis and drive train of robots, subsystems, and safety at FIRST events. We also had tons of fun just hearing the kid's fun ideas and stories. In one station, we let them just invent (as pictured to the right) and we had many kids make innovative and inspiring creations that brought smiles to our faces.
